Tanya Sharp was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2002. After multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, Tanya became a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and she and her husband, Steve, organized her first Relay for Life in 2004. Ironically, days before the second relay on March 11, 2005, Tanya will find out the results of another biopsy, which the doctors give a 95% chance of being cancer.

Hey Tanya and Steve,
It has been a while and too bad it has to be bad news that motivates people to write. I often think about you, in the short time we spent together at Tempart you where a great friend and I knew then there something very special about you. That was a great speech and I also feel that during trials and adversity is when a person really learns to appreciate what they have and grows the most and ultimately makes us stronger as people. You are already a strong person and I know you will win this battle no matter what. So I won't be sad, just happy I had the honor of being your friend. Tina
